On December 9, Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting dedicated to the Heroes of the Motherland Day and laid flowers to Eternal Flame in the Victory Park in Kazan.

On December 8, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited museum of Islamic art in Doha, Qatar.The museum was built upon the project of a famous architect Ieoh Ming Pei in 2008 and occupies the area of 45,000 square meters. The collection of Islamic art includes manuscripts, textiles, carpets, ceramics, arms and armour, and household objects. A lot of artifacts were brought from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, India and Central Asia.
